THE PROBLEM
Human trafficking is the illegal trade of human beings, mainly for the purposes of forced labor and sex trafficking. As the world's fastest growing criminal industry, it affects every nation across the globe. Every 30 seconds, someone becomes a victim of modern-day slavery.
There are more slaves in the world today than at any other point in human history, with an estimated 27 million in bondage across the globe. Men, women, and children are being exploited for manual and sexual labor against their will.
We invite you to JOIN US for our 3rd annual Walk For Freedom! On October 15, we will fight together as a global community to illuminate the darkness of human trafficking, and raise funds to rescue and restore more lives than ever before. In over 250 locations around the world, we will lace up our shoes, put black tape on our mouths, and march in single-file to eradicate modern-day slavery for GOOD!
Why do we walk? We walk for children like Nina*, who was only 7 years old when she was sold into prostitution by her parents in Thailand. This year, your decision to fundraise in your local community has the power to save the lives of human trafficking victims all over the world. We are challenging our global community to raise $1 million dollars that could provide care for up to 2,000 survivors of human trafficking. If each person who participates in the #WalkForFreedom pledges to raise a minimum of $100 in their local currency, we will reach our goal and be able to transform lives.
This year, we're offering a unique opportunity like never before. For the individuals who raise over $5,000, we will be choosing a person to visit our A21 facilities in Greece! This incredible freedom fighter and one friend will get the chance to meet our team and see first hand how their funds are truly changing lives. We cannot wait for you to join us!
