A Veteran's Life of Freedom
So my name is Brandon "Bo" Bougades. I served seven years in the Army, Airborne Infantry, with the 101st, 3rd bct Rakkasans. I got out on a medical retirement in 2013 after being blown up 3 times while in Afghanistan, all within 65 days of each other. The 3rd one, on my birthday, severely injured me. However before they could start to fix me I demanded to reenlist for seven more years. This happened almost immediately after they pulled me off the bird. My service meant everything to me, and unfortunately that was taken away. I tried to stay in and continue my service but was only able to serve for another 3 years. Diagnosed as 90% disabled to include ptsd, anxiety, depression,insomnia, night terrors, and so on and so on. Then of course there was the physical damage to my spine, leg, neck, head and brain. But even after all that and dealing with all the pills the Army and VA had me on I made the decision to move to Colorado to get off the meds. Fortunately after years of 7 to 8 pills 4 to 5 times a day it only took 6 months to get off all the meds. So there's some history!hahahaha So I've been working for a while now and enjoy my career but it's sales so it's up and down. Recently I've been feeling the call to just go. Travel anywhere and everywhere and just go. So that's what I'm doing. I'll be quitting my job to live a life on the road. Me and the dogs are selling all the stuff we don't need and we're putting a camper in the back of the truck!! And I could not be more excited. I think it would be amazing to finally be able to experience the true freedom that I sacrificed for. That my brothers died for. I want to go and visit all my brothers and see the rest of this beautiful country and the people that I fought to protect. Instead of being stuck in a constant day to day grind. Life is so much more than just waking up to go to work just to pay bills so that you can have a place to sleep so that you can go to work and so on and blah blah blah. I'm sure you get what I mean. Nobody should live for the rat race. So even though I'm still working I could really use your help! I've already put heavy duty tires on the truck to help support the camper and will be making improvements as I go but gettin started is gana be a big jump. So im hoping to raise 10,000 to start a life of freedom and adventure. The camper is the biggest chunk of the expenses and a lot of the little stuff is already covered. I've been stocking up on gear for years. But as someone that usually never asks for help, that's exactly what I'm doing. Never done this go fund me thing before so I'm really hoping this works. I just want more from life besides grinding just to make someone else money. Life should be an adventure! Thank you so much everyone.
