Help Deb Beat Cancer!

Donation protected
Debbie Hall, also known as Debbie (Swanson) Halper is one of the kindest, most generous and fun-loving people that you could ever know.  She is the beloved wife of Ken Halper and mother, friend and mentor to all who have had the good fortune to know her.

Now she needs your help to save her life.

In February, Deb's entire world changed when she was diagnosed with cancer.

A pain in her stomach turned out to be a tumor, and at first, she was told that it was treatable.  Subsequent tests showed that she has a  rare and aggressive form of Ampullary Cancer and it has spread to her liver.

She met with an Oncologist at The City of Hope for a second opinion.  She was devastated when he told her that with Chemotherapy she “might” live for a year.

Fortunately Deb is a strong willed person.  She is unwilling to accept this diagnosis as a death sentence and researched alternative methods of treatment, like many others who have been in her situation.

She found alternative therapies that have had good results listed on the National Cancer Institute website.  From there, she located a medical clinic in Mexico that offers a number of them, along with Chemotherapy.  The clinic has a 77% success rate in curing Cancer, particularly by people whose cases are considered “hopeless” by the mainstream medical community.

Deb and Ken went to a Clinic in Mexico on Friday, April 26 and met with a Doctor who believes he can save her life.

Deb’s Cancer is very aggressive and she has to start the treatment immediately.  The treatment is not covered by insurance.

Ken and Deb have already maxed their savings and need your help to fund the remaining cost of treatment and other related expenses.

Let us tell you about who you would be helping.

Deb has been a dedicated teacher for over 30 years .  Her patient and caring personality has enriched the lives of everyone who knows her.  She has helped many students master new skills, overcome difficult subjects and to go on to successful careers of their own.

She has many reviews from students and parents, praising her for the life-changing contribution she has made to their lives.   This gifted teacher is a true asset to the teaching profession.

Deb has worked hard all her life and never gave up on finding happiness.  On March 15th, 2015, she met her soul mate in Ken Halper, a really terrific guy.  After a whirlwind year of romance, they were married on the beach in Hawaii and still act like Newlyweds.  They are deeply in love.

Deb and Ken have been planning for their retirement and although she loves teaching, she had decided to stop working in the near future, and focus on travel and family.  They were looking forward to spending the rest of their lives enjoying time together and being with the ones they loved after working so hard for many years.

Deb wants you to know that she feels good right now, and is determined to beat this thing and spend her golden years with Ken.  Please do what you can to help them realize this.

Many of her fellow teachers have generously donated their sick days, and she thanks them all from the bottom of her heart.

Deb, Ken, their kids Morgan, Hayley, Mason, Sally, Andy, Mike, Lindsay  and grandchildren Ainsley, Abbey, Caitlyn and Nathan, and all her wonderful family and friends thank you for your generosity and love!
