A prosthetic eye for 2 year old Ariella

2 & a half year old Ariella Lynn Coyne has fought harder than most of us adults will ever have to in our lives. Diagnosed with retinoblastoma at only 18 months old, this unicorn loving, giggly, bright little girl has fought a rare cancer and chemotherapy and she's won, both times.
But now, she's fighting the clock.


Retinoblastoma, is an exceptionally rare cancer that impacts the eye. It is only seen in about 20,000 cases a year, and usually in children under 5. Ariella has spent the past year and a half undergoing various painful and intrusive treatments, and smiled her way through all of them. Recently the medical decision was made to remove her eye entirely thus, removing the cancer from her body. This was a huge turning point for her and her journey. 

Now, with this chapter behind her and her family, she has one last bridge to cross. Ariella needs a new eye. 

Insurance deems a prosthetic eye to be a cosmetic need, but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who would agree. To begin to heal, to fit in with her peers as she grows, and even medically, Ariella needs a new eye. The cost is $3,600 and with all the medical procedures, expenses, and missed work, her family cannot afford to provide this for her. What's more, the appointment, long since scheduled is May 15th. This appointment was made with the belief that the procedure and eye would be covered fully by insurance. 

Having endured all that she and her family has, they are so close to the light at the end of the tunnel. But they need help. They need us, and they need donations. 

Car washes, sub sales, even fundraiser evenings are scheduled but there's no guarantee that will reach the necessary amount - $3,600 by May 15th.
