A new heart for Casey

On December 29th 2016 Casey Kile went home sick from work. Thinking he just had the normal flu he stayed home and tried to take care of himself. Throughout the night his symptoms got worse and he was taken the the hospital. His Heath rate was up to 190 and erratic. He was then transferred to emergency where an echocardiogram was taken showing that his heart was enlarged and working about a third of what it should. He was hospitalized for the night thinking that his heart rythym was just off and he would be fine to go home the next day. At 1:00 am he woke up coughing with a racing heart rate. His blood pressure dropped so low that it was undetectable and he was intubated and put into a medically induced coma. Since then Casey has been transferred to the UCLA medical center and has been diagnosed with heart failure at the age of 20. His heart is so weak that he will have to undergo two major open heart surgeries. The first to put in an LVAD pump to help his heart pump for him, which will be temporary until he can have a heart transplant. The insurance is covering a majority of it, however there is still a large out of pocket expenses that are not covered and we could use all the help we can get.
