“AlI want for Christmas now is for Dad to get better,” Jamison and Shelby said to me. Their words melted my heart as we sat around the kitchen table for dinner one night recently. Their father, my husband, the patriarch of our family, Todd, has been sick for well over a year. He has been dealing with liver failure and is getting progressively worse each day. For those who know us, know that it is incredibly hard for us to ask for help.
Ideally, the best chance Todd has is if we found a living donor. The donor would need to have the same blood type as Todd (A+) or (O+) and be under the age of 50. The procedure includes transfering 50% of your liver, which is the only organ that will regrow to full size on its own within 6-8 weeks,
We do know this is a lot to ask of anyone and understand that it is too much for most. However, if it is something you're interested in, PLEASE message me!!!!!!!!! Unequivocally, finding a living liver donor would be the BEST chance for Todd.
In the meantime, while we are looking for a donor, medical costs are piling up and Todd doesn’t know how much longer he can work. In addition to the liver disease he is also living with an extremely painful hernia.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. I would also like to say thank you to those friends and family who have stepped up and helped us out throughout this ordeal :) There is no amount of help that is too small. We are taking all positive thoughts, prayers and any other healing energy you can send our way.
