A Kiln for Patrick's New Venture

When we donate to some charities, we never really know who will receive what. We look for ways to make a difference and we often make the decision to donate to Macmillan Cancer Support or to similar charities who do excellent and invaluable work.
Patrick Cairns, our dear friend and colleague, has been undergoing a marathon of medical treatment. Together with his family, very recently he has had no choice but to re-evaluate his life and career.
After much careful deliberation, Patrick made the difficult decision to leave the teaching profession that he has loved for so many years. Now, he is following another passion; the world of clay and pottery.
Thanks to Susie and some hardworking members of their local community, Patrick now has his own workshop in the garden and has started to enjoy the creative process of making clay pots again. Very recently, he has been able to embrace the opportunity to exhibit some of his work locally and his work has been much admired.
In order to continue to pursue this new chapter in his life, it would make the world of difference to Patrick to have his own kiln. The cost of a suitable kiln would be approx £3,500. Knowing this, we wanted to help Patrick to raise the funds and we know that there are many others who would love to join us. It would be wonderful if, together, we can make this happen.
