A Heart for Tracy: When Healers Need Healing

If you know Dr. Tracy Charles then you know that she is a cheerful giver. Oftentimes, she gives until she has absolutely nothing left. This time, however, it is she who needs your generosity. Dr. Charles has been hospitalized for the last two months in need of a heart and kidney transplant. After spending over half of her hospital stay in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, we are proud to say that she is now stable and getting stronger every day.

Dr. Tracy Charles is a practicing anesthesiologist but due to her illness has only been able to work sporadically as an independent contractor.  Thus, she has no disability insurance, no paid sick leave, and no stable income. As her illness progressed, she has been unable to work consistently for the last year and not at all for the last 6 months. As medical expenses have continued to accumulate, her family is no longer able to shoulder the financial burden.

Tracy’s husband, Leonard, was forced to return to work after having taken time off to be by her side. With the help of family and friends, he has been able to maintain their living expenses. Going forward, however, we need your help!
