A father’s fight against gastric cancer

We are starting this GoFundMe in honor of Bobby Box and his amazing family. For any of you that may not know, Bobby was rushed to the hospital Monday afternoon 7/15 for vomiting a significant amount blood. Since then, Bobby has battled severe anemia and debilitating pain. His doctors performed a myriad of tests. After a EGD was performed on Tuesday afternoon, Bobby was diagnosed with an aggressive form of gastric cancer. As you can imagine, this has been an incredibly traumatic experience and will continue to be an uphill battle for Bobby. In addition, Bobby suffered a debilitating back injury in late February while on the job. He has been home battling with workman’s comp for months and was scheduled to undergo major back surgery in the coming weeks. During this time he also lost his medical coverage.
Bobby, as you many of you know, is one of the most genuine and goodhearted men you'll ever meet. He is an amazing father to three incredible young ladies. Maddie 13, Clara 8 and Elizabeth 7. These three girls need their Daddy’s support and guidance for many years to come. He is determined to watch them grow, see them graduate and walk them down the aisle.
As utterly terrifying as the past few days have been, Bobby’s strength and positive attitude through this incredibly trying time have proven unwavering. We are all so proud of our amazing friend, son and father for his resilience that will undoubtedly pull him through this nightmare.
His team of doctors desperately want him to begin chemo treatment immediately, followed by a full gastrectomy and removal of a portion of his esophagus. Without this treatment, Bobby’s doctors have given him only 6 months to live. He is determined to remain in good spirits and work hard to do everything possible to beat the odds. We are all hoping and praying for his recovery!
We set up this GoFundMe page as a communication platform to ensure we keep all of Bobby’s wonderful friends and family up to date on his status and progress. As you can imagine, Bobby will incur significant medical expenses during this process, so any donations towards Bobby’s recovery, family expenses and medical treatment are so greatly appreciated.
