A Family’s Final Fight

Donation protected
To a family who would never ask for help so we're asking for them.

This page was organized by Brittany Richstein, Diane Camacho, Veronica Lippencott, Joy Sonion and Rachel Heller.  As a mom the one thing in the world lisett deserves most is to spend every single second she can with her son. Kyle needs her now more than ever so we want to make sure that happens.

For those of you who know Kyle, you know that he is one of the sweetest, most loving people in the world. Kyle has a huge heart, loves to spend time with his family and friends and draws his own comics in his free time.

In 2009, at the age of 14, Kyle was diagnosed with a craniopharyngioma, a benign brain tumor that required a seven hour operation. Kyle has since had numerous other tumors that resulted in complicated surgeries and permanent vision loss, among other things. Over the years, Kyle has been in and out of hospitals for procedures, tests and scans yet his strength and hope remained steadfast.

Last month, the day before Mother’s Day, Kyle was having trouble breathing and had a high fever of 102 degrees and was hospitalized for two days. On June 4th, he was taken once again to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center where doctors found a cyst in his brain and immediately went in for a sixth surgery to drain the cyst. Kyle also had a respiratory infection and other complications. Even more pressing are the many small tumors found on his brain, which are inoperable. As of this afternoon, Kyle is being prepared for a transfer to Hospice at the tender age of 23.

Kyle’s loving mother Lisett has not left Kyle’s side throughout this entire ordeal. Lisett's loving husband Jeff, his sister Emma, and his grandmothers and grandfather have been been spending much of their time in the hospital with Kyle. Lisett and Jeff put every ounce of their being and love into caring for Kyle. As Kyle’s condition has worsened, Lisett recently had to quit her job to be by Kyle’s side 24 hours a day. Lisett and Jeff are not only dealing with devastating circumstances, but medical expenses and bills are piling up and costs will only continue to increase.

Please help us raise funds to assist Lisett and Jeff get through this without putting their well- being on the line. These are two of the most selfless and loving people you will ever meet, and this is the perfect time to show them how much their family means to us. The thought of Kyle, an intelligent and loving boy being so sick at such a young age is nothing short of devastating, so please help us help them in a different way- any amount will help.
