9/29/2018  Brave Ethan finished his first round of chemo and went for his follow-up visit this week. Unfortunately, his cancer is aggressive and has returned with a large tumor on his spleen and was found in his liver. He'll go through surgery this upcoming week, then more intense chemo and radiation. This new diagnosis has been a shock. Please help financially if you are able to and please, please pray for Ethan and his family as they wage war on this beast of a disease. We are incredibly thankful for your support:)

4/2018 Ethan Robins
is a sweet boy, full of energy and happiness, who just turned 7 yesterday. Last week, after noting a protrusion in his side, his parents (Jason and Shalon) took him to their local pediatrician who led them to seek a diagnosis at Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. They discovered Ethan has a large Wilms Tumor on his left kidney. To save his life, the cancerous tumor and his kidney will be removed on Tuesday, April 10th.  After the procedure, Ethan will begin chemotherapy until the cancer cells are eradicated from his body.

As you can imagine this is a frightening event with a treatment and cure at a high cost. Even though Jason owns and operates a successful business, the family does not have the traditional health insurance that would cover the bulk of the expense.

This brave family is just a year out of another child medical crisis when Corinne, their 10 year old daughter at the time, had to undergo emergency surgery at Primary Children's to correct an Unicameral Bone Cyst in her hip. They scraped out the cyst out and replaced it with a bone graft with a metal plate and 8 bolts. After a long recovery, Corinne is doing amazingly well. We are hopeful and praying for the same outcome for Ethan.

The Robins family have 6 beautiful children who make a positive impact in their community. Their extended family is creating this GoFundMe to shoulder some of the financial burden that this surgery and chemotherapy will be for them. We are grateful for any assistance you can offer and ask for your faith and prayers as this courageous little boy and his parents go through this difficult trial. Please share to get the word out. Our deepest thanks for any support you can offer.

We'd like to share some of Shalon's post after they found out the diagnosis as she humbly expresses her faith and gratitude to those in her life. God bless and please help us cure our sweet Ethan!

"I am overwhelmed and scared. Yet, the outpouring of love from my family and friends has been......I can’t even think of the words, other than I am in awe at how amazing everyone is. I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for all the amazing people he has put in my life, I am so blessed. As we start down this path(which I honestly don’t want to go down) my heart is full, as I feel the love and strength from the army of angels both on earth and in heaven standing with us. Thank you doesn’t even come close to explain my gratitude. But, THANK YOU and I Love you all so dearly. " --Shalon Robins, St. George, Utah

I'm thrilled to share some very good news from Shalon, Ethan's mom. I'm amazed at Ethan's bravery and well as his family's faith--continued prayers for them all and may the healing continue! Thank you to so many of you who donated, prayed and showed your support in so many way.

"My heart is full today!!! Almost one year ago next week, we found out that our little Ethan had Wilms Cancer. It has been a long year, lots of chemo, 2 surgeries, radiation, numerous CT scans that always showed the cancer remaining or growing back. There has been fear and tears. But most important, there has been countless fasting and prayers, countless acts of service for our family, smiles and laughter during the good times, words of encouragement during the hard times, hugs, love, gratitude for our wonderful Savior, countless blessings, countless miracles, I could go on and on. Our family has been truly blessed and I want to thank everyone for supporting us through this. Most of all I want to thank our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for blessing our lives so much. Today we came up to Primary Children’s for chemo and another CT Scan, and thanks to our Heavenly Father, our prayers were answered. The CT scan read, “No evidence of residual or recurrent disease.” Words cannot fully express our relief and the gratitude we feel at this time. Finally, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. He will still have more chemo treatments but he is almost done. When we told our other kids, my daughter Corinne said “He got his wish, last night he told me that he wished the cancer would go away.” I am so glad his wish came true. Ethan has been so strong, never complaining or crying. He just does what is asked, with complete trust in us, even when I wasn’t sure myself. How I love my little Ethan. He really isn’t so little anymore (as he is always telling me), but he will always be my little Ethan, my rough and tough little boy. "

Since September, Ethan and his parents have been going up to Primary Children’s Hospital for round 2 of chemotherapy as Ethan bravely fights cancer. Every third week, they travel to Salt Lake, spending 5 days in the hospital, while Ethan receives the "big" chemo treatments daily. During the other weeks they spend at home, he gets milder chemo treatment at the Pediatric Cancer Clinic here in St George (IHC). He has been receiving chemo every week since last April 2018!

They will be leaving today to go up to Primary Children’s Hospital. Ethan is scheduled for a CAT-SCAN & an MRI on Wednesday. He will be going into surgery, again, on Thursday, January 10th to remove what is left of the tumor. The doctors have said his recovery time will be the same as it was last April during his kidney removal--it's a painful recovery.

Ethan will then go to the Huntsman Cancer Institute for "pin point" radiation, when the doctors say he is ready for that. Jason & Shalon have said they will probably be up North for the most part of January. When Ethan starts radiation treatments it will not be inpatient. That will be added expense because they will have to stay in a hotel while he receives radiation treatments, probably 7-10 days at a time. They will know more after his surgery on Thursday.

The doctors remained astounded as to Ethan's resiliency and positive spirit. Most children going through cancer struggle, understandably, with emotional turmoil, but Ethan remains cheery and is an inspiration to all of us. Please help this sweet boy any way you can, whether it's a donation here, spreading the word, or (most importantly) your prayers for Ethan, his parents and his siblings. We sincerely thank you for your support!

10/10/18: Update-Ethan returned to Primary Children's Hospital and was immediately admitted. The doctors found his tumor has continued to grow and began bleeding. He has undergone surgery today to drain the excess fluid and has started intense chemotherapy and will remain at PCH for the next 3 weeks. Ethan is unfailing brave, despite dealing with pain and many complications. We ask for any support you can give to help his family ease the cost of being away from home for so long and for brave Ethan's treatment. We also plead for your prayers. We believe there is power in concentrated, sincere prayer. Please pray specifically for Ethan, that his body can withstand the harsh treatment, that the doctors can understand how to fight the cancer in his body, and that his parents, Jason and Shalon and siblings: Caleb, Ty, Corinne, Jaden and Kerrington will be blessed and comforted. Your support and faith are much appreciated. #pray4Ethan
