Baby Brody was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 while in utero. His parents were told their best option was to abort him but they wanted to give him his best shot at life.
When he was born, he was a complete miracle. Brody was blue and not breathing when he was born and had a pulse of 40 as determined by the neonatal doctor. Everyone believed he was not going to make it. Brody was put on his mom (Sarah)'s chest and his parents were told to tell him goodbye as he was passing. But Brody is a miracle baby and likes to defeat the odds. After having skin to skin contact with Sarah, he decided to start breathing and crying and the NICU team was rushed back in the room to treat him. No one can explain how this happened other than that God intervened because the OB/GYN doctor recorded 25 minutes between Brody's birth and his first breath.
Baby Brody lived an amazing life and thrived for 5 short weeks before his health took a turn and he made his entrance to heaven. His family loves and misses him so much.
They are now starting a non-profit called Brody's Blessings to help other families who have lost their little miracles and provide financial, emotional, and social service assistance to others who have gone through similar pain to theirs.
Any future funds raised on their GoFundMe will help with the setup and start of this non-profit.
