A Book That Changes Everything

Lexie TenHuisen and Free Indeed Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the transformation of incarcerated women and men through prayer, evangelism, discipleship and counseling to assist them in their transition from prison to community.

Although Free Indeed Ministries, Inc. serves in many different aspects, one way they get to show love to these women each year is by holding their annual book drive. Lexie found that as their lives were being changed, they longed more and more to connect with their children. The book drive started 4 years ago, when Lexie and her team provided free children's books for the women to send to their children as Christmas gifts.

"The project is really two-fold", explains Lexie, "because you wouldn't believe what it means to these mothers to get to send a simple Christmas gift to their children, but also what child doesn't love getting a package in the mail, and especially from an absent mother." 
While this ministry has made such an impact in the lives of the women and children that its served, often times they will run out of books or the mother can't afford to ship them.

This year, we want to go above and beyond for this ministry. We've partnered with a company called Usborne Books and More, a creator of high-quality, educational books for children. They will match the funds that we raise 50%. So if we hit our goal of $1,000, Free Indeed Ministries will get to pick out $1,500 worth of age-appropriate, easy-to-ship books for the mothers to choose from. What a blessing!
