A Beacon of Light for Pat!

Be the beacon of light in someone's darkness - Randi G. Fine

On June 19, 2019, Patricia Hoffmann suffered a massive stroke.  At this time Pat is unable to speak, walk or move portions of her body.  She is currently still in the hospital, but will hopefully be moved to a specialized facility soon. This page is being set up in an effort to help ease some of the burden now affecting the family. We have all seen how healthcare provisions can help a loved one, but at the same time harm a family financially. This is one of those times. Together, we can do something.

To know Pat is to know her zest for life, and helping others.  For those who don’t know her, please let me give you a little insight into what she means to her family, friends and community.

Pat and Bob have been married for 37-years.  To watch Pat singing and dancing while Bob and his band are playing would bring a smile to any face in the crowd.  Their love and devotion to one another is immeasurable.

Pat is an avid gardener. Almost daily you will see a Facebook posting with amazing photos of her beautiful flowers and gardens. It is wonderful to see how a single post each morning can bring such joy to so many.

She is known for her quirky and sideways fun photography. Her Facebook is filled with postings from events she attends. These photos show the fun in all that she does and the captions often make you laugh until your stomach hurts.

Pat’s love for animals is immense .  Together, she and Bob own three Rhodesian Ridgebacks, five birds and a Siamese cat. She spends countless hours riding horses and helping the barn organize events for their group.

Her personality really shines when she competes in Agility with her beloved Ridgeback, Kaz.  To see their bond with one another and the constant smile on Pat’s face, while competing, is inspiring to so many.  Even when she is not competing, she is rooting on other competitors or volunteering to help.

As a long-standing board member of The Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States, Pat is tireless in her efforts with website management, the billing and is an integral part of every National Specialty event.  You never hear her say, “No, I can’t do that.” Instead she finds a way to make it happen.  Always fluttering about, one never sees her sitting still, as she is too busy helping out others or taking photos to share, capturing all the fun things happening.

She is also a board member for the Rhodesian Ridgeback Charitable Foundation.  An organization whose goal is to increase health and longevity, educate and explore research for the betterment of the breed.

Pat is the Vice President of the Greater Valley Forge Rhodesian Ridgeback Club.  She not only helps at every event, but also makes everything look beautiful on the day. Between the trophies offered to the decorations presented, you can bet that every piece will have a place and be perfectly displayed.

Each year, you can also find Pat at the Meet the Breeds booth in New York City, where thousands of people stop by to visit the dogs and talk about the breed. Her costumes and booth displays are admired by all and have won top awards through the years.

All of this describes a person who works tirelessly to bring light and joy to all.  So let’s come together and be the beacon of light to help in Pat’s successful recovery.
