Zamora Moon was a beautiful little girl who battled valiantly against a terminal brain tumor known as DIPG. Although doctors gave her months to live, she ended up enduring a grueling fight that lasted 2 years until her death on June 18th 2017 at the young age of just 9 years old.
Zamora survived so long because of the extensive efforts her mother and father made in an attempt to save her live. From starting out in their hometown of Redwood City California, picking up their lives moving to London (for treatment options that the states didnt offer), to ending up back in Redwood City California for Zamora's final days, they tried EVERYTHING yet unfortunately still lost their little girl and so did a following of over 80k people rooting for her on social media via her FB support page ( https://www.facebook.com/ZamoraMoon/ ). It was devastating to say the least.
Zamora is now resting at peace but her mother Marisa doesn't get that same relief. Not just because of the grief of dealing with a child who passed away slowly over the last few years, but also because of the relentlessness of hospitals who still hound Marisa for payment over treatment given to Zamora. Treatments that did NOT save her life.
Marisa receives calls on a DAILY basis as well as receiving mailed notices which keep the wound of Zamora's passing open and unable to heal. She's exhausted all of her credit cards and has even taken out loans to keep up with this and I, Ricky Mena, feel this is HIGHLY unfair for a woman that deserves so much more.
Thats why i created this GoFundMe. Marisa needs to put this debt to rest so she can finally start the healing process of loosing Zamora. So she can focus on raising Zamora's sisters and being the amazing school teacher that she is. Lets come together and help take care of all these bills. We cant bring Zamora back, but this is the least we can do!
