Update! Our Project is almost complete. We still need fencing a security and video system and Kitchen appliances. We should be ready to open the doors in the fall at the start of the school year
Family Life Church and a group of volunteers including some of the neighboring churches are working on renovating and upgrading the Old Cropper Store or future home of the Youth Connect activity center. Youth Connect will provide a safe, constructive and supervised place for our youth in the community to come together and fellowship, share food, play games, and build lasting friendships. The new facility will also be a great place for community gatherings.
We are modernizing the building with restrooms and a kitchen facility as well as replacing rotten floors, upgrading the electrical system, replacing windows and doors and we will have the property completely enclosed with a chain link fence and lighting for security purposes. These are the major repairs we are working on. We have volunteers do most of the labor and will continue our works as the funds are provided. The work has begun and we welcome you to stop in and check it out. We do not have the funds needed to complete this project at this time so we are asking for the help of the community.
For those of you who do not know, Dora Missouri is 30 minutes from anywhere. Dora has the school, a post office, a general store & gas station and that is it besides all our great rivers and forest and outdoor activities, otherwise, you have a 30 min trip for any entertainment. Dora's DYNO used to be a gathering place for the youth! We need this place revived and Youth Connect will be that and more.
