‌Welcome to Josh and Kate's Go Fund me page.  We hope that you will learn a lot about these two amazing children who live with Autism.  They show us everyday that when given guidance and encouragement you can and will accomplish what you want.  You need to believe!

This year both children are up for an award at the World Autism Festival all and Awards.  Both children have had an extremely rough year with medical issues.   Joshua has lost friends to cancer and now he is watching his Grandmother whom he loves so much go through her Cancer fight.

We no sooner got Joshua's grandmother out of the hospital when his uncle took a massive heart attack and had to be transfered to Halifax for open heart surgery.

This year of all years I truly believe that going to the festival is extremely important to them.  With all they have been through I believe this is the one thing that will help build their self confidence back up.

This year it is very important to their Grandmother to see them get there.  Cancer is a scary thing.  We never know how much time we have with the ones we love.

Joshua held a fundraiser with Subway for the IWK Childrens Hospital on April 22, 2016 from 11-2 at Subway Yarmouth.

WHO IS ANCA ?      ANCA World Autism Festival: Who are we

Hello,

My name is Joshua Cochrane and I am 10 years old. I am looking for sponsors and was wondering if you would be interested?

Here is my story.

In 2014 I went to the World Autism Festival and Awards in Edinburgh, Scotland. I was very grateful for all the sponsorship I received. Without it my trip would not have been possible. I learned many things while I was there. Not only about a different Country but, ways to help me cope with my Autism. Also, while I was there I was nominated for a performing arts- youth award. I came in 1st place out of 20 Countries.

In 2015 I Was nominated to receive an awards for using my talents to help raise nearly $300,000 for different charities. Some of the charities are: IWK Children's Hospital where I am being treated for many medical issues, The Children's Miracle Network- helping sell blizzards on Miracle Treat Day, Legions, Veterans, Fire Dept.'s, Hospice and many others. The awards I recieved were a world ambassador award for being one of the World Ambassadors for the event.  The second one was an award for Community Achievement for using my talents to help so many people.

This year The ANCA World Autism Festival will be held in Vancouver, BC.  I have been asked to return again this year.  I have also been nominated for awards this year as well.

I have included my resume for you to scan through as well as some news story links from the last little while.
I am looking forward to making my town and your business very proud of me again this year as I represent my town of Yarmouth, all of Nova Scotia and Canada at this World event.

I have also been chosen to sing our National Anthem at the opening ceremonies again this year. I have also been chosen to be the Canadian Ambassador for the ANCA® World Autism Festival and Awards.

This year in my own home town of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia I have been asked to attend a Volunteer Gala where I am going to be recognized for the volunteering that I have done to help raise monies for charities on April 12, 2016 at our Town Hall.

If your buissness chooses to sponsor me:

The Magazine in which you can read about me and my trip to Scotland that I included in this information will include your companies logo in their magazine if we can get it in before printing.  If not your bussiness will be mention at the World event as one of my sponsors and I would be more than happy to bring PR material to pass out to advertise your buissness.  To have your business's logo included in this years magazine please contact Leonora or Charlie Collura at [email redacted] .
This magazine is distributed around the world. It will also show that your business is in support of the Autism Community.

This year I have some really cool news.  My sister Kate who also has Autism will be attending the World Autism Festival with me as a nominee in the category of Youth Visual Arts.  Kate is 15 years old and really enjoys Anime.  She is very talented in creating anime and hopes to be a computer animator when she grows up.  Art has helped Kate express herself in ways that she has not been anle to before.  Kate suffers from extreme anxiety disorder along with severe sensory challenges.  When she gets too stressed now she draws pictures on the computer.  She can draw some really neat drawings using the mouse.  She has never before gone puplic with any of her art so this is a very first for her.  Kate has come along way with the help of her Autism Service Dog- Viper.  They have been a team now for 6 years.  When Kate got Viper she was basically non-verbal and would hide at the very thoughts of meeting anyone.  Her social anxieties were through the roof.   She was very self abusive and was a huge flight risk.  Before Viper came she had snuck out of the house in the middle of the night and had become lost in a snow storm.  It took people almost 4 hours to find her.  When she was found she was very hypothermic because she didn't understand the safety risks of leaving the house unattended or not dressed for the weather.  Her hyposensitive feelings for pain made it hard for her to understand her bodies warning signs of the cold.  Thank goodness now that we have Viper she no longer does this as Viper will alert us to her eloping.

I will add some of her art for you to see.
Thank you for your time and considering the opportunity to sponsor me at this World Event.

Your representative at the world level,

Joshua Cochrane

- This is a link to the video story that the IWK did on Joshua for the IWK Telethon. Since this video was made Joshua has also been diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type 1. This is a condition where tumors develop on the end of nerve fibers. This can be treated with pain management as well as Chemotherapy. We have chosen to not do Chemo just yet and let the Dr.’s wait and see. They will decide when this is absolutely necessary. This was Josh’s choice as well.
