Pregnant Cancer Survivor Needs Help

Elena and Wes are joyfully expecting their first child, unfortunately, it has not been without complications or hardship. They are, sadly, in a situation where they must choose between paying for medical expenses to keep mom and baby out of harm's way, or pay their mortgage. Elena, a colon cancer survivor, has had a difficult pregnancy; pregnant with twins, one was lost, and she has since experienced many other complications which have required 11 hospital visits.  She has been on doctor's orders to not work for most of her pregnancy because it was deemed "high risk" early on.  As you can imagine, only having a single income while expecting a new baby, maintaining a household, and having higher than average medical expenses to ensure mom and baby stay safe has not been easy.  Elena and Wes have gracefully been managing, but are now in need of assistance and support.  They have become behind on their mortgage due to high ongoing medical expenses (particularly prescriptions) and will soon face foreclosure without help while Elena remains under doctor's orders to not work. They have been able to avoid foreclosure this month, but it was by a hair, and they are now in the process of a loan modification to make future payment easier. With approximately 3 months until Elena's due date, they need help with medical and household expenses, and ensuring they have all the newborn supplies they need before baby's arrival. Even if it is just $5.00, any help you can provide to get them through this time is greatly appreciated.  For those of you who do not know Elena and Wes, I am proud to say that Elena is one of my closest friends.  Elena's passion is geology, after working for an oil company, she went on to get her teaching certification so she can pass on her love to the next generation.  Wes, a former semi-pro skateboarder, spends his days as a web developer - and doting on Elena.  Having met in college, Elena and Wes have been together for 9 years, married for 6 years.  They are two of them most loving people I have ever witnessed.  Please help this amazing couple.
