Renewing Hope through horses

For over 20 years I have seen the miraculous benefit that horses can have for people. They are gentle healers that can change lives. One of the only places my autistic son was calm and grounded was when he was with horses. This is a gift that should be available to everyone. Horses can travel places in our hearts that are closed off to others and move past the walls into vulnerable places inside us that people simply cannot go.
This type of experience has tremendous healing potential. Horses can assist individuals who need a trustworthy soul to confide in, people who want to discover more about themselves, too those of us who suffer with serious mental illness and disabilities they can offer emotional regulation and self awareness.

Waves to Ripples is almost ready to begin service to the community. We have property, staff, horses, our official and required paperwork is complete and solid. Well trained staff waiting in the wings.

Since I began perusing this dream every door that was needed has opened. I am putting my faith in this door opening too.

These funds will go towards keeping our business up and on our feet until we are self sustaining. Expenses like our insurance, animal care, program needs, feed and grooming supplies as well as needs like advertising. These funds will also be part of a scholarship program for our clients who are financially unable to afford Equine Assisted Learning but who would benefit from it. Without this help Waves to Ripples simply cant move forward. We are set with our business plan, tax ID number, staff and horses. All of our ducks are in a row!  

We have 4 Equine Assisted Learning horses.
Olaf-He is a sweet but shy older boy
Noble-He is our sassy pants who loves to push buttons
Amigo- A burro adopted over 20 years go who is simply a cuddle bug
and Cady a 32 inch mini who runs the show!
A horse is the perfect partner for practicing being in the moment, taking risks, communication skills, boundaries, self awareness and self esteem. The list goes on and on.

Here in my town there are no resources for emotional care that are obtainable for the average working family.
I want to make this available to everyone. We have schools and mental heath providers who have no resources for their members who could use a safe, confidential place to practice healthy life skills.
*Families can work on communication and understanding
*Couples can explore how each other see the world
*Youth can identify needs and wants and learn how to share them.
*Exhausted parents of children with behavioral issues can now use the horses as a place to relax and watch their child explore the world along side a patient teacher.
*Kids can build awareness and self esteem
*Individuals with trauma have a safe place free of judgement to work on life skills and overcoming fears.
*School counselors can refer students who may need a boost in confidence or struggle expressing themselves.
*The local behavioral health provider will finally have an option for their members to assist them in working on treatment plan goals.

The amazing benefits of working side by side with a horse are unlimited. It is a ground work only program and we approach each session open to however our client chooses to go. Sometimes the client will notice something about the horse and there are times the horse notices something about our client. These are the places we work.
