Training Boot Camp for Wally

All I want for my birthday is..... to keep Wally!!!!

Wally is our beloved family pet.  We found him through a courtesy listing on Angel City Pitbulls, and adopted him from two young women who presented themselves as a foster organization, although in truth, they were independently pulling dogs out of the shelter and re-homing them, without experience or organization.  Regardless, it was love at first sight with this goofy, duck-footed, big headed, gentle giant.

Only after we had let him into our home and our hearts did we learn that he had been attacked while in foster care by  2 boxers and as a result, had major dog-aggression and anxiety.  Wally's aggression is limited to dogs, and to dogs he doesn't know, and it has only become progressively worse over the year or so that we've had him.

We live on a busy pedestrian street, and our house is set close to the road, so we have neighbors walking by our house all day with their dogs on leashes and Wally can easily push past one  of the kids and get loose.  After one such incident, I reached out to a number of rescues and training organizations for help. More than one suggested I put Wally down, or find him another home where he has more room to roam or no children so he has less of a chance of getting loose.

The thought of abandoning this sweet boy, who has been a savior to me over these past years, or worse, putting him down - made me feel sick.  So, after a ton of research, lots of phone calls and emails, and many tears,  I've found a solution that could help us save Wally from euthanization so he can stay with us, his Forever Family.   The place is called Blue Dog Ranch  and the owner, David, will take Wally in for 21 days.  In that time, David is confident he can train me, the kids, and Wally, cure him of his dog-anxiety and aggression, prepare us to be  responsible dog owners, and return him to us safe, sound, and with us - the owners - in control.  You can see some of David's success stories on his Facebook page here.   Please help send Wally and his Humans to "camp," and get us all  the training Wally needs so he can be safe, loved, and cared for for the rest of his life!
