My name is Paul Sanders. I am a writer. I am also known as The 13th Juror MD.  Recently, I self-published a book, “Brain Damage: A Juror’s Tale”, the true story of being a death penalty juror on the murder case for Dale Harrell.  I was Juror #13 from January 23, 2014 – June 6, 2014.  It was the most amazing experience of my life and the book captures not only the importance of the victim over the defendant, it also confronts my experience with domestic violence.  It is available on Amazon and sells at a rate of one hundred a month and I am honored at the support I have received. It is the story of Justice for Dale through a juror’s eyes.

I have just completed the first draft of my second book, “Why Not Kill Her: A Juror’s Perspective”.  It is the true story of my attending the Jodi Arias Death Penalty Retrial (in the search for Justice for Travis Alexander), every day from August 14, 2014 – April 13, 2015.  It is the day by account of the trial also known as “A Juror’s Perspective” posted daily on many social media sites.

I am extremely grateful to the followers and sites: The Trial Diaries, Juan Martinez Prosecutor Support Page, The State vs. Jodi Arias, Joey Jackson Fan Page, Justice for Travis, Justice 4 Dale, Court Chatter, Wild About Trial, Beth Karas and the many others who have posted my work. I also grateful to tricia and David with True Crime Radio and Troy Hayden of Fox. I especially thank Jen and Jarrett from Trial Talk Live. Your support has been amazing!

“Why Not Kill Her – A Juror’s Perspective” is an inside look at the Jodi Arias Death Penalty Retrial through the eyes of a former juror.  It captures the nuances of the trial by taking the reader into the courtroom.  One can feel the glare of Juan Martinez as he sarcastically asks the witness, “Are you done?”.  The reader walks the path of Kirk Nurmi as he repeats, “or let me back up.”  The reader feels the pain of the trial yet, somehow, it finds its way to the good the can come of such a tragic event.  It speaks to the drama of the trial while it also carries the weight of the tragic side of the trial and the victim, Travis Alexander.

“There can be no good ending in a murder trial, only lessons”.  Why Not Kill Her finds those lessons in the end.  It also finds the soul of the process of justice.

However, due to the last fifteen months of attending two trials simultaneously, I find that I will need funding to complete the process.

I am two months away from self-publishing the work.  It entails twelve hours a day of rewriting and editing.  I have an editor working on the book as well as one working on artwork.  My goal is to publish this no later than July 4 weekend, 2015.  I would appreciate funding (as I am not working), (while considering revenue of my other book at $3 – 500/Mo), for living expenses for two to three months, publishing costs and funding for the next trial.  I live on $1200/month including rent, utilities, phone and internet. The publishing costs include any ISBN’s.  Most importantly, I have an editor working on “Why Not Kill Her” as well as an artist for the cover.  It would be special to be able to compensate them.  If funds contributed surpass, it would be an honor to attend another trial and repeat the process of “A Juror’s Perspective” posted every night of the trial.

I am experienced at self-publishing and committed to deadlines.  This work is 170,000 words in length and the story will last a lifetime. I hope to see you July 4, 2015 weekend for the release of "Why Not Kill Her"! Thank you for giving me an opportunity to make a dream come true.  Please follow me on Facebook (Paul Sanders) and/or Twitter (The13thJurorMD).  I post the rewrites daily.

Whatever you can do would be greatly appreciated as we walk up to this stumbling stone...Thank you for your support!!

(The better the funding, the better chance we could convince Jen Wood from The Trial Diaries and Tammy Rose of Chopper Rose Productions,  to work as a media team for the next trial while I post  "A Juror's Perspective".  The Robert Durst Trial or the McStay Family Trial might be considerations after "Why Not Kill Her" is published.)

“Every good relationship that has developed as a result of this Trial is the manifestation of the Spirit of Travis Alexander.”
