With your help, we can form a world-class performing ensemble for Traditional Ghanaian Music and Dance. We need funds for purchasing authentic drums and costumes, securing weekly rehearsal space, and all the other costs associated with forming a small business.
Authentic Drums and Costumes from Ghana are a large portion of our initial costs. Roughly half of the funds from this campaign will go directly to the craftsmen who are hand-making our drums and costumes, as well as the shipping costs to get them to Los Angeles from Ghana. It is our largest, and most important expense.
The city of Los Angeles is full of music, but they've never anything like us. Ghanaian Traditional music seamlessly incorporates multiple disciplines to create a dynamic presentation of life. Drumming, dancing, and singing come together in an intricate drama that beautifully honors the past while looking towards the future. We think that message is timeless and want to dedicate ourselves to passing it along to every single person who sees us perform.
We will be starting rehearsals for our 2019-2020 season in June, once our drums and costumes have arrived. With your help and support as our foundation, we will build something amazing.
