You can help us build a rain shelter for our sea turtle defenders in Nicaragua!
We have a donor match! Our good friends and supporters from Eskayel have offered to double all funds raised (up to $1000) for the next two weeks.
The funds raised during the Eskayel donor match will be used to pay for improvements to our successful "Vivero Escameca" sea turtle hatchery that was responsible for the release of almost 10, 000 endangered sea turtle hatchlings last year.
The peak of the sea turtle nesting season is also the peak of the rainy season in Central America. Our courageous sea turtle defenders patrol the beaches and guard the nests in the hatchery during storms and in pouring rain. The funds raised here will be used to build a shelter where our team can stay dry, healthy, and be more effective. Building the shelter will also enable us to accomodate more volunteers and protect these endangered animals even more.
