Hector in his new home!  Doesn't he look happy?

UPDATE 2/2/2016: I know it has been a while since this  has been updated!  Jose was adopted Jan 2016 into his forever home!  He is a very happy little old man now.  Below is a picture of him in his new home!  Snuggling in a bed his mom made just for him.  He has a little brother (chihuahua) named Timmy, a cat and a few guinea pig friends.  He lives in a "tiny house" and he is spoiled in the best way possible.  He has found his perfect home!
Hector is still with us.  He has an adoption pending.  He needs to meet his two potential dog siblings to see if it will work out before it is finalized.  This will happen in March when they come back from their stay in New Mexico.  So we will update at that time.  He has already met his potential human mom and dad and he liked them both very much!  So we will update you on that when it happens!  Fingers crossed the three dogs like each other.

Otherwise, Hector is doing well.  Medically, he is doing well.  He's not too fond of the very very cold weather.  He has had all of the vet care he needs for a while.  We just need to finish paying off his dental bills and he will be set to go.  Hector below, says Hi!Thank you all for following their story and helping with their care and long recovery from years of neglect and abuse!  They are both wonderful loving little dogs who did not deserve to be mistreated!  They are both so happy now!

If you like to follow our rescue we have a facebook page.  Also Hector has another GoFundMe for his dental care here: https://funds.gofundme.com/HelpHectorSmile/  I post pictures on our facebook page from their adopters once they get adopted too so please check there to followup and see happy stories.   We are a nonprofit rescue so donations are tax deductible.  We are so grateful for your support.

THank you for your help!

Good Dog Adoption Agency Inc. picked up these two elderly chihuahuas yesterday (9/17/14) in Reading.  They are the two that were on Craigs list.  They were dumped in an alley in Reading.  We KNOW they were purposely dumped but cannot explain it publicly right now.  Luckily for them, some very kind people found them in their garage which is lower than the alley (It's a few steps down).  The chis were too tiny to get out.  The people took good care of them, feeding them and bathing them with hopes of finding them a good home because they already have dogs of their own.  Truly these people were very kind and good to the dogs!!

We went straight to the vets with the dogs.  Both dogs need a lot of medical treatment from years of neglect!  They are both estimated to be 10+ years of age.  They are both sweet!

The smaller boy only weighs 3 lbs.  He has a bad infection in his mouth.  He is on antibiotics and needs to have dental surgery as soon as the infection is under control.  He will probably need most if not all of his remaining teeth removed from absesses.  :-(  He is not eating very well, probably due to the pain.  He also has bilateral luxating patellae.  We don't even know how much relief he can gain from surgery but he should see an orthopedic vet for a consultation as his last item on his medical wish list.  Before that, he needs, neutering, vaccinations, microchipping.  He had a 4Dx blood test to see if he is heartworm positive or not and if he has any tick illnesses.  He also had some bloodwork to see if he is healthy enough to get his mouth fixed up.  So we are waiting to hear on those results.

The bigger boy is eating much better.  He is a whooping 4 lbs!  His teeth are not as bad but they are not good.  He too needs a dental procedure.  He also has luxating patellae but not as bad so he might be ok.  He is coughing so I am a little worried about that right now. He had a 4Dx to see if he is heartworm positive and he had bloodwork drawn to check if he is well enough for dental work.  He has a moderate heart murmur and his medical wish list has an echocardiogram at the bottom of it.  In between he too needs neutering, vaccinations and microchipping.

They have both been wormed with drontal plus and given advantix II.  Neither had fleas.  The neighbor to the lady who had them had bathed them twice so that certainly helped them both!  Thank you Hector & Maribel for taking good care of them!

They need names now too.  If anyone wants to help w a foster home or is interested in adopting once they are well please let me know.
