Send our Rocket Team to Huntsville

We are a group of students at the University of South Florida with a passion for rocketry and space exploration known as the Society of Aeronautics and Rocketry (SOAR). This has been our first year participating in the NASA Student Launch Initiative and representing our University for the first time in this event. NSL is a national competition with University rocket programs from around the nation competing to produce a rocket to hit an exact altitude of 5,280 feet, as well as a scientific payload.

For the past 8 months we have built a subscale rocket, our full scale rocket, and are hard at work continuing our robotic ground support system. It has been a long competition with a lot of challenges, culminating in the competition week in Huntsville, Alabama at the Marshall Space Flight Facility.

Our previous source of funding is no longer available for travel but we are still planning to go to the competition and put all of our hard work on display, but we need your help!

No donation is too small and every bit will help a group of passionate young engineers and scientists achieve their dream of competing in this prestigious NASA competition.

Cost Breakdown:

$500 per room for the  5 day competition
x 4
= $2000 for accomadations

$400 per van for the 5 day competition
x 2
+ $200 for round trip gas mileage
= $1000 for travel

Total = $3000

We will be putting forward as much as we can but we hope that every member that has worked hard on this project has the opportunity to participate regardless of money. Every donation means a lot to us, and brings us one step closer.
