USC Fans Supporting LAFD

Donation protected
At my USC tailgate on November 10, I put a bucket out to collect donations for the firefighters who were working tirelessly on the Woolsey Fire while we enjoyed a leisurely day of tailgating. My plan was to use the money to buy supplies for the firefighters and deliver them to the LAFD base camp in Camarillo.

I collected $172 that day but LAFD was practically begging people not to deliver supplies to the base camp or any fire stations. Instead they requested monetary donations. So instead of buying supplies with the $172 I asked my followers on Twitter to donate money and grow the pot. Over the next three days the total grew to over $1,000! I was floored!

USC fans have been so generous that I decided to start a Gofundme campaign to make it easier for people to give and easier to spread the word. All the money will be donated to the LAFD Foundation  which is an organization that provides monetary support to LAFD.

The campaign has a modest goal but the money will be donated to the LAFD Foundation even if we don't meet the goal. Also, anyone can contribute! You don't have to be a USC fan but I just want to honor the generosity of the USC fans who seeded this campaign out of the goodness of their hearts.

I made the initial contribution to this campaign which is equal to the contributions that were made before GoFundMe, so those donations are reflected in the total. I plan to close the campaign on November 25 which is the day after USC's last football game of the season.

Thank you in advance for your donations! Every little bit counts!
