UK Cat Killer Leaflet Campaign

It has now been widely reported that there has been an alarming number of linked animal killings across the Greater London area and the South East, with cases also confirmed in other parts of the UK over the past few years. The case has been attracting more media attention in recent times, however these killings have been occurring for several years.

Although primarily cats - other animals including foxes, wildlife and domestic rabbits have also been victims.

After coming to the attention of local animal rescues in the Croydon area several years ago, hence the "Croydon Cat Killer" tag given by the media,  the killings appear to have become more frequent and have occurred across a much wider area in the past couple of years.

The Metropolitan Police are running the investigation, named Operation Takahe, out of Croydon and are working alongside animal charity the RSPCA and SNARL (South Norwood Animal Rescue & Liberty).

According to SNARL, as of January 2018 over 450 killings are under investigation, this total has now risen to over 500. SNARL have also been collating historic cases as more pet owners have come forward and believe the death toll to be far higher.  

An awareness campaign has been in place for some time with leaflets being distributed by volunteers across the UK.

Leaflets are a vital way of alerting pet owners and the general public, informing them of what is happening so they can be vigilant and ensure they keep their animals safe.

Leaflets are currently funded purely by donations and this page has been set up to enable a further print run(s).

£344 will fund a print run of 35,000 colour leaflets which will be distributed by volunteers across the country in areas where killings have taken place.

Any amount will be gratefully received and will go some way to ensuring as many people as possible are aware of this case and take us one step closer to catching this killer.

All money raised will go towards leaflet printing.
