Treavor and Tucker The Service Dog

Donation protected
Treavor is an amazing eight year old little boy with a bigger than life personality, a huge heart and even bigger faith. Treavor has been diagnosed recently been diagnosed with with autism and dyspraxia after more than a year of regression, struggles and seeking a diagnosis.

After much prayer our family decided that a service dog would give Treavor the best chance at leading a more independent life and help him with his anxiety and mobility issues that he struggles with daily.

Treavor and Tucker meet recently and there was immediate bond between the two. Tucker will be trained to respond to Treavor’s physical and emotional needs, his abilities, and areas in which he needs help. The training is extremely intense but our family is certain that Tucker will provide confidence, love, and support for Treavor through childhood and adolescence, and into adulthood.

Treavor has faith that God will provide this for him and is making potholders to sell for donations to Tucker’s training fund (those are still for sale if you would like one).
We know there are people with many needs in this world, but appreciate any donation you are able to make. Even if you are unable to donate,  prayers and shares of this fund are greatly appreciated!

Thank you for reading Treavor’s  story and for any support you can offer. Please pray for Team Treavor & Tucker as our family  continues on this journey.

We have been blessed beyond what we ever thought was possible. Should our funds go over what Treavor and Tucker need for their specific training, we will be starting a fund to donate that money to another child that needs a service dog. Please follow this amazing journey on our FB page.

MORE ASPERGER SYNDROME Children may have difficulty with social interactions and have a restricted range of interests and/or repetitive behaviors. Motor development may be delayed, causing clumsiness or uncoordinated motor movements. Typically those affected by Asperger syndrome don’t have significant delays or difficulties in language or cognitive development, and demonstrate a precocious vocabulary – often in a highly specialized field of interest. Other behaviors often seen with Asperger’s syndrom include limited or inappropriate social interaction, “robotic” or reptitive speech, obsession with specific and unusual topics, lack of eye contact, reciprocal conversation, awkward movements and mannerisms, challenges with non-verbal communication like eye contact and more.

MORE ABOUT DYSPRAXIA: Dyspraxia is a brain-based neurologic condition that makes it hard to plan and coordinate physical movement. Children with dyspraxia struggle with balance and posture. It affects the development of gross motor skills like walking or jumping, as well as, fine motor skills. This includes things like hand movements needed to write clearly and mouth and tongue movements needed to pronounce words correctly. Dyspraxia can also affect social skills. Kids don’t outgrow dyspraxia. But occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy and other tools and strategies can help. There are different types of  dyspraxia that range from making it hard to do such things combing hair and waving goodbye, brushing teeth or making a bed. It can also make it difficult to coordinate muscle movements needed to pronounce words. Kids with dyspraxia may have speech that is slurred and difficult to understand because they’re unable to enunciate. It can also make it harder to understand spatial relationships like having difficulty copying geometric drawings or using building blocks.
