End Veteran Homelessness in MI

This Go-Fund-Me campaign is to help seed fund our Non-Profit Organization project in Ending Veteran Homelessness in the State of Michigan. Our NPO assists Veterans, Spouses, and the At-Risk Community in discovering their meaningful career focused occupation. We believe that our Veterans deserve the best our country has to offer. We started this organization to help Veterans transition into the civilian workforce and add purpose to their career. Our project, however, is to assist in ending Veteran Homelessness in MI by 2020.
In Michigan, there are 822 Homeless Veterans Statewide (based on the HUD count in 2016). We believe that this is a solvable issue. There are many organizations that are making progress in bringing the number down to 0. We simply want to partner with them and assist in connecting our Vets to the resources.
We have partnered with the Empowerment Plan out of Detroit to provide their coats to our Veterans. To learn more about the Empowerment Plan, please follow this link: http://www.empowermentplan.org/about
In addition to the jackets, we are building hygiene kits as a way to initiate relationships. We believe that by being intentional with relationships and following through, we can get our Veterans the resources they need.
Our official outreach begins in January 2018 when the next HUD count occurs. Our goal is to have enough funding to support the West Michigan area (88 Veterans). If we can fully fund the State, that would be wonderful. The cost per Veteran is $110 which includes a jacket and a hygeine kit.
The actual project is accomplished through building relationships and sharing successes throughout the State.
