Tree of Life Labyrinth

Donation protected
A labyrinth changed my life. While walking a labyrinth in a candlelit space of a chapel in the piney woods of Texas, I encountered a spiritual reality of being in the presence of God. That experience shaped me by giving me insight into the reality of a relationship with the divine inherent in my very being.

The labyrinth is an ancient gift, a walking meditation and prayer path. It aids in quieting the mind, grounding the body, and listening for God during the walking meditation. At Grace Episcopal Church in Houston, we are embarking on a project to transform an outdoor space with a 42-foot Cretan-style labyrinth. Located under a canopy of magnificent oaks, the site will offer a labyrinth and seating in a sacred space where people can experience God in nature.  The shape of the Cretan-style labyrinth brings to mind a tree, deeply rooted in the earth and reaching high to the sunlight, connecting all of God’s creation.

Grace is a welcoming Christian community sharing our spiritual journeys through worship, fellowship, and outreach. One of the ways in which we hope to share with others is through the creation of the Tree of Life Labyrinth and prayer space. In the bustling city of Houston, only a few miles from the Texas Medical Center, the Tree of Life Labyrinth will provide a respite for reflection, meditation, celebration, and spiritual well-being.  Just as my life was changed by this meditative experience, we believe this sacred space will speak to others in life-changing ways.

Please join us in making the Tree of Life Labyrinth possible. You can help in three ways. By donating here, your generous financial gift will help to create a beautiful space for those seeking a place of respite and sacred stillness in God.  Second, we will be creating the Tree of Life Labyrinth every Saturday in October from 8 am to noon, and we invite you to join us for the build at Grace Episcopal Church, 4040 W. Bellfort, Houston, TX 77025. Third, we welcome all prayers and positive energy for this endeavor. Please be a part of the creation of the Tree of Life Labyrinth.

We thank you for your generosity and support.
