Total Warriors for Moorhouse Church
Donation protected
Me and Harriet are taking part in Total Warrior on the 7th August. As you can see from the video, it's a crazy assault course with mud, fire, water, electric shocks and more. So why would we put ourselves through this? We are hoping to raise money for our amazing church.
Moorhouse Methodist Church has been around since 1853. Attending to the spiritual needs of the local young people has been central to Moorhouse from the beginning. In 1872 the church established a Day School which eventually became Moorhouse Primary School. In the 1960's Moorhouse was well known for it's "The Fish" cellar club, and for the last few decades it's youth clubs - Monday Club and Rock Solid. We want this to continue.
We have recently had to have the asbestos removed from the cellar in order to tackle an issue with dry rot. But we'd don't just want to fix the issues and the leave the cellar empty and out of use. We want it to be returned to a fully functioning room which can be used for all kinds of activities, in particular a hub for the growing youth in our church and local area.
Obviously this will require a lot of money and hard work, and many people we know have already given very generously already. But we need to keep pushing on until our grand plans for the cellar become a reality.
So that's why we are doing Total Warrior. Harriet is doing the 10k assault course, and I am doing the 10m variation which includes some fell running. We have never done anything like this before. To make matters worse, I've done something to my knee and am currently struggling to run.... But we are so passionate about this that we are willing to go through this torture to raise the money. Please give as generously as you can.
