We are a (soon to be*) non-profit organization in Jasper, GA looking to open an all ages, drug and alcohol free music venue in the heart of downtown Jasper. Our overall goal is to provide a positive atmosphere to people of all ages, religions, and walks of life; The Path hopes to provide a welcoming home operated under Christ-centered values without the formality of a traditional church. In today's society, there is so much condemnation and rejection found in some churches that a lot of people feel intimidated or unwelcome - we are here to solve this problem.
This is a ministry that myself and my father have been working towards for 7 years. The venue has been ran from several different locations under several names, attracted crowds of 10 to 200 people on any given night. The purpose of this fundraiser is to help us establish a semi-permanent, independently operated location and the equipment we need to properly run such a venue.
We have picked out a location, located on Mark Whitfield St (the lower half of the former Hallmark Store that faced South Main Street), and hope to move in immediately, as we have a show booked for June 23rd and would love to have it in our own location. We will need first and last month's rent up front along with a deposit for the power and water bills, totalling $1200.
In addition to this emergency startup funds needed, we hope to also raise enough money to cover operating cost an additional 8 months ($6500), along with money for a new soundboard, snake, and speakers ($2000), and some necessary operating supplies (toiletries, tickets, advertising materials, coming out to $300)
This brings us to a total of $10,000. This seems like a high number, but it is simply 500 donations of $20. Living in a county with almost 30,000 residents, this is slightly more than 1% of the people in the county contributing to something that a much larger portion of the community can fully enjoy.
Not only will this provide entertainment options for the community, but it will also provide commerce opportunities by bringing in concert attendees from around the state along with bands from across the country. For additional information, visit our original fundraising page here:
