About Tamara:

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Tamara trained as an actor in between modelling assignments for local fashion houses.

To further her ambition and move on to a bigger stage Tamara relocated to New York where between acting assignments, she also spent her time as a catwalk and showroom model with several of New York’s top Fashion Houses.

She later moved to London where she trained at ALRA to further develop and refine her on screen talent and ability as an actor, and subsequently appeared on stage with Ben Elton in 'Popcorn', in Animated Tales of the World, which received 2 primetime Emmy and BAFTA awards and the 'Quietus,' which had its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Tamara also took part in many other shows, TV commercials, and voice over work.

She was a true and talented thespian who had an extraordinary love of life, theatre, and the creative arts. Tamara always considered London as her "adopted home", establishing a presence there which to this day is ongoing

Suddenly and unexpectedly diagnosed with cancer in 2014, (and never being told she was terminal), her life was taken less than 20 weeks later.

After her funeral, her dying wishes were honoured and the Tamara Letendre Foundation for the Arts was created.

The Tamara Letendre Foundation for the Arts is a charity created to promote, recognise and assist individuals who aspire to a life in the creative arts – in particular drama, stage, film, TV and Fashion.

This foundation has been created in Tamara's name and will offer grants to deserving individuals wishing to begin or further their artistic education. The foundation is non biased, equal opportunity and LGBT friendly.

In conversations, Tamara always reiterated her desire to relive her own hard work, dedication, and creativity through inspiring others and awarding opportunity and financial assistance to those talented individuals who, due to their financial circumstances, would otherwise be lost to the arts.

The Tamara Letendre Foundation for the Arts is an ongoing charity, to promote, recognise and assist individuals who wish to aspire to a life in the creative arts.

The foundation is now seeking public donations in order to further its ambitions. Your Donation can be made in any Amount or Currency via - http://www.gofundme.com/the-Tamara-Foundation-for-the-arts

On behalf of Tamara, her friends, colleagues and extended family, we'd like to thank you wholeheartedly for the time you've taken to get to know a bit about Tamara, and more importantly to consider her Foundation and how this will encourage and assist those who genuinely possess the talent yet are challenged by their circumstances.
