Help Ex TV Sitcom Star Fund FILM

Donation protected
Help take part in funding a documentary film and make possible a son's last journey with his father as Bill Kirchenbauer takes the ashes of his deceased father, Alfred, on a road trip back home to scatter them as requested. . . on the White River in Hesperia, Michigan.

Bill is setting out on a heartfelt journey that will be captured in a documentary style film that celebrates the life of his father, a highly decorated military veteran from World War II, with an independent documentary-style film called "Taking Al Back Home". This campaign will raise the necessary funds to shoot a documentary film and to make this journey possible and capture the experience in a professional format for distribution. We need your help to make this possible. Funds raised will support transportation costs to Hesperia, Michigan, production of the film, and distribution once its completed. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Military War Memorial in Michigan so that they may continue to honor our veterans from WWII. Any amount you give is appreciated, no matter how small, and will help make possible this last request of an Army veteran.

Al Kirchenbauer served his country on the ground during both the Vietnam War and WWII. During the 'War to End All Wars', he was a member of "The Ghost Mountain Boys” whose horrific, heroic journey through New Guinea was chronicled in a book of the same name by James Campbell. The documentary we propose will include a stop at the Military War Memorial in Al’s hometown of Muskegon, Michigan. His medals (including the Silver Star) and uniform will be placed in the prestigious museum so that his legacy and sacrifice for the country can live on. This film will be a poignant, yet humorous, journey of a son with a box of ashes, paying tribute and recalling cherished memories of his late father. Throughout this visual journey, Bill’s stories will engage the audience with stories from everyday small town folks who knew his father and other boys from their town who fought for freedom. Whether you came from a small town like Al, or a big city like many others, you will be able to relate to the timeless story of a son and his devotion to his father’s memory.

You may remember Al's son, Bill Kirchenbauer, as Coach Lubbock from the late 1980's Emmy Award winning ABC television sitcom "Just the Ten of Us". Bill is also one of America's top stand-up comedians with guest appearances on The Tonight Show and Late Night with David Letterman. Along with several Movies and HBO/Showtime specials to his credit.
Please consider donating to this project. We have professional cameramen, sound and editing capabilities and promise a professional outcome. Donations in any amount are gratefully accepted and we thank you. In addition, those contributing $100 will receive a DVD copy of the film and a signed photo from Bill. $250 or more will receive a photo, a signed book and a DVD copy of the film and a screen credit. $500 or more will receive signed photo, DVD of film, Screen credit, signed book and a t-shirt of the film. $1000 or more will receive all of the above and a personal phone call from Bill himself.  Thank you for your consideration
