Taiko (Japanese Drumming) for Kids

Earle Fox and Kin No Yama Wadaiko reached 900 students last year with TAIKO Japanese drumming. Students have embraced it and want more!
It began as a grant for teaching Japanese drumming, norms, and culture to elementary students in Stockton, California. After twenty years in California, Earle Fox retired from classroom teaching and moved to Maryland where TAIKO was introduced to students in two elementary schools last year.
Now there are three schools who have requested that Kin No Yama Wadaiko work with their kindergarten through fifth grade students.
As always, budgets are tight. You can help with your donation. No amount is too small, nor too large!

Your donation will provide weekly taiko lessons and opportunities to perform for approximately 1300 students this year and the beginning of the following year.
It will also help Sensei Fox replace the drum trailer stolen in 2013. (If you have a trailer suitable for transporting drums please feel free to donate it as well!)
The goal is to raise the full amount this academic year. Our first goal is $5000 by November 1, 2016. Our second goal is to reach $10,000 by February 1, 2017; $15,000 by April 1, 2017 and the full $20,000 by July 1, 2017. This will allow Sensei Fox to have all resources in place to begin the 2017-18 school year.
Kin No Yama Wadaiko is preparing to work with Southgate Elementary School and Manor View Elementary School to bring taiko to their students. A third school is considering a Taiko program.
