Tabi's wheelchair tennis fund

Donation protected

Hi, I'm Tabi. I have been a wheelchair user for 4 years. I set up this GoFundMe account with a view to replacing my current day chair which wasn't suitable for my needs. I've been very grateful that has now been sorted and I'm awaiting delivery of a new chair.

I began playing wheelchair tennis in the autumn of 2015 and began competing in the novice division on the National Wheelchair Tennis Series in early 2016. I won 2 silver medals in my first year of playing and in my second year I won 7 gold and 1.silver medal in 2017. In 2018 I moved into the main division and won my first gold medal playing at this level. In June 2018 I fly out to compete in my first international tournament in France, and am planning on playing in the Nottingham Open in July.

I currently don't receive any funding or sponsorship towards my tennis so have to fund all of my travel, hotel, expenses, equipment and tournament entry fees myself. Your donation will go a long way towards supporting me in my tennis career.

In May 2014 I woke up one morning with no movement or feeling from the waist down. I had a battery of tests and the only conclusion the medics came to was that I have multiple areas of degeneration I'm my spine, something that is usually diagnosed in much older people. As a 32 year old I could have let this be devastating to my life, however I decided to rebuild my life and focus on the positives. Playing wheelchair tennis has given me a new outlook on life and I hope to inspire other people to push boundaries and try something new.

I really do do thank you for you time and dontations.
