TJ's Helping Hand's Fund

A little over 2 years ago, my brother and sister in law picked up everything they had, leaving their 2 young adult boys behind, and moved from Tennessee to Des Moines.  The reason for this move was to be closer to family in SD after Jim's brother, my husband, suffered a nearly life ending & permanently disabling stroke.  Since moving, Jim & TJ have endured many different challenges, including an auto accident and job cut-backs.  The biggest challenge though has ended up being a fight for life for my sister-in-law, TJ.  She had previously battled and seeminly won the battle against breast cancer in 2012.  In 2015 she was diagnosed with "uncurable" bone cancer, and the cancer has now mutated and moved into her lungs and liver.  Last week, after 10 days in the hospital, doctors tearfully told them continued treatments were just not going to be possible- the chemo was killing her faster than the cancer.  They have had to go through the process of setting up Hopsice.  TJ was not been able to work since being re-diagnosed with cancer.  Jim has already utilized all of his paid leave time at work in order to care for TJ and take her to all of doctor appointments.  Any futher time he needs to take off to help care for his wife will be unpaid.  They did move "closer" to family, but are still five hours away and not "close enough" that family is able to help them through this process.  Medical bills have piled up, and ultimately TJ's biggest wish is to get moved to SD, where they can be around family.  Any contributions made will go towards their medical expenses and if a move is possible, it will help with those moving expenses.  Continued prayers for Jim, TJ, their boys and family are also very much needed and appreciated.
