Support Christian & Small's #AdvocatesForEducation School Supply Drive Benefiting Teach For America-Alabama
Many teachers reach deep into their own pockets to fund necessary resources for their classrooms. Likewise, many low- and moderate-income families across Alabama struggle to afford some of the most basic of supplies needed to get students through the school year.
Christian & Small LLP wants to help ease that burden for these teachers – many of whom are first-time educators – and their students. During June and into early July, Christian & Small will be accepting donations to purchase the following school supplies that will benefit the students of Teach For America-Alabama’s 2016 incoming corps members:
Clorox wipes
Kleenex® or boxed tissues
Sharpies®
Composition notebooks
Notebook paper
Staplers
Expo® dry erase markers
Copy/printer paper
Staples
Expo® dry erase board erasers
Paper clips
Post-It Notes®
Folders
Pencils
Scotch® tape
Highlighters
Pencil sharpeners
Index cards
Pens
For those who would rather donate supplies, we'll be collecting these items in the lobby of our Birmingham, Alabama office (505 North 20th Street, Suite 1800)
On Thursday, July 14, attorneys and staff from Christian & Small and Teach For America-Alabama corps members and staff will convene for a service project where we will assemble these donations into kits for the corps members’ classrooms. Students in these classrooms who are not able to provide their own supplies will receive these kits, and any leftover supplies will become a supplement to the teacher’s own classroom resources.
