Support Ellie's musical, Conflict of Interest

Hi, my name is Deb Severo and the picture above is of my sweetheart, Ellie Lee. We were together 14 years, until she lost her battle with cancer in 2009. Ellie had a degree in music and was a published author; in 1996 she merged these two passions and created a delightful musical called Conflict of Interest. She wrote all the music, the lyrics and the book of the play; sadly, she never got to see it produced. When I retired in 2014, I vowed to bring her masterpiece to life. I am so excited to share with you the news that Conflict of Interest will debut at The Firehouse Center for the Arts in Newburyport, as a co-production with The Actors Studio of Newburyport. There will be eight performances, October 4 through 13, 2019!
The play is a dramedy about love and competing agendas. As two young women fall in love, their widowed parents tiptoe onto Cupid's path. The boss, the business, the lease, the colleague, the dance school all present potential obstacles to the path of true love. Will love triumph?
I am grateful for Marc Clopton, the Executive Director of The Actors Studio of Newburyport, who has been significant in helping me make this dream come true. I also feel very fortunate to have renowned director, Anna Smulowitz, directing Conflict of Interest. I am thrilled to have pianist and composer, Doug Hammer, who worked with Ellie in 1996 to record the original soundtrack for Conflict of Interest, creating the musical track for the show!
My goal is to raise $8900 to support the production, as presenting a musical is costly, considering design, construction, cast and crew, publicity, promotion, and costumes.
