Hello my name is Randy Boyd and I'm not unlike other men in the world today other than I am vulnerable and transparent. My parents divorced when I was 10 years old and my father died when I was 12 years old.
The man that was to become my stepfather began sexually abusing me a month after my father died. I was a 12 – year old boy craving a father figure and a fathers love, and Jack was fully aware of that fact.
Jack would sexually abuse me until I was 17 – years old and both my mother and Jack emotionally, physically, sexually, and spiritually abused until I moved out of the house ay the age of 18. I started drinking and doing drugs at a young age as a way to numb the pain I felt on a dialy basis as a result of the abuse. Eventually my alcohol and drug use evolved into alcoholism and drug addiction.
Today I have nearly 11 years of not only sobriety, but recovery. I have turned my greatest sorrow into my greatest joy. I am the founder of the Courageous Healers Foundation, a Life Coach, CADC-1 (licensed drug & alcohol counselor), the author of the groundbreaking book - "Healing The Man Within" – and a publice speaker at conferences, colleges and high schools. I also educate doctors, law enforcement, judges and attorney's. As well I am an associate of "It Happenes To Boys." I talk about the correlation of sexual abuse and drug addiction, the effects that sexual abuse has on men, and give my audiences hope that there is healing.
I am raising money to support my ride across America, (on a bicycle), departing June 18, 2017, to educate America about how sexual abuse of boys effects their everyday life. I will also be raising money to support the Courageoous Healers Foundation -a place where men, boys, & their families can heal from the scars of sexual abuse.
There is no other facilities where boys, men and their families can come and work specificaly on healing the wounds of their childhood abuse.
