UPDATE TO STORY: Half way!
With love, I report that we are only a short distance from the first goal of 12,500.  It was thought that I would need the same amount, as the 2nd goal.  It appears that that goal will now be 9,500.00 (22,000.00 TOTAL!! :) . So we are half way NOW! The Company offered a reduction !. PLEASE keep helping me get there and keep my Story moving! ❤️Also, don't miss all of the "updates" below

MY Story:

Many people have made contact and requested a platform, where they could help. This is my Mom’s story. Would you please do me the honor of reading?

”Please read my Story. Thank you in advance” Julie B

Julie has been a Paraplegic since 1984. She is totally wheelchair confined.  Julie was barely in her 20’s. She has 2 college degrees (completed after injury), which were earned at the University of Alabama (Roll Tide Roll :), and has raised two children, mothered many more, and has a grandson, Kylan, 17. She wrote a book that many of you may have read about her accident and life titled, “God Knew I Loved Pizza”. A lot of her books have been given to hospitals and school institutions to be used in teaching on how to care both physically and mentally for someone going through a traumatic accident, paralysis and mental anguish. In this story you will see her sitting in her wheelchair and then standing in the device.  The device left her home yesterday, as she does not own it. It was trialed in Julie's home, to see if it would work with her body (able to take standing) and needs (chronic open cut). It will work for BOTH! A "standing frame" will NOT work! One was purchased and tried. The cut is on the inside, of the left leg, so the pumping action, when moving the seat up, for stability, damages the wound bed. The stander can not touch the would bed or press on it.

Four years ago, after a fall in the shower, she was confined to casts for two broken legs. During that time, she obtained and attempted to use a overhead lift, that runs across the ceiling of her bedroom, to place her in and out of the bed, independently.

The sling on the lift system  cut the top, back of her left leg. She has tried to heal that cut for what will be four years this coming July.  Home Health Care, Wound Clinics, medical supplies and even raw, local Honey are delivered over and over every day and has unfortunately become part of Julie’s everyday routine.

Julie spends every afternoon in the bed attempting to heal this cut.

As you can imagine, it has changed all aspects of her life.  She has not worked since that time. Daily morning programs including wound care for the cut and other ailments are required and a minimum of four hrs in the bed every afternoon.  There is barely time for her to do regular household things…. the mandatory, we must do things, in order to just keep living life. Up until 2014,  Julie swam "the bubble butt swim" for exercise, now she can not swim due to the cut. It has affected every aspect of her life.. from her clothing, work, mind, independence and every single part, of every day.

This device would allow blood to flow to the cut and would also get Julie up off the cut, and not have her confined to the bed for those hours every day. We must remember that our standing up is still her sitting in the wheelchair. And, sitting in the wheelchair does not allow for healing.

It may seem small to us, but it is not a small problem at all. This is someone’s life that we can be apart of healing!  Let’s try to help her heal this crazy cut and allow her to be a part of her Grandson's active, teen life, her work  in the Mental Health Field and helping others, as she has always done, family fun and freedom from a cagged body and mind.

If Julie’s video and story of healing touched you, please help with this Fund Raiser. Let’s get her on her feet, friends, LITERALLY!!!!   The device is 22,000 NOW, but our first goal is to be blessed by raising half 12,500-. (We reached halfway with less,  due to the Company kindness) Can you help? Can you pay it forward? The amount can be 1$ or a giving of your choice. Sharing this, with someone you think would want to help, is greatly appreciated.

Posted in the Updates below, please see the video of Julie utilizing the TEK device. There are also more additional photos of her family in the updates below.
