Sponsor an Amazing Internship Opportunity

Help me get to NYC for an internship at the American Museum of Natural History.

Must raise $1000 before I can leave on Oct. 3.

I am a burgeoning, young physical anthropologist who just graduated from the University of South Carolina in May. (Go Cocks!) My intent is to go on to graduate school for forensic anthropology in August of 2013. My dream is to go on to one day have a job that I love and know that I am making an impact in the lives of others. In order to do that, I need graduate school. In preparation for applying to graduate school, I am garnering as much experience as possible in various areas of physical anthropology. I have been presented with an opportunity that has the potential to greatly impact the future of my education and career in a positive manner. However, I fear that financial strain may prevent me from taking advantage of it.

I have been accepted for an internship at the prestigious American Museum of Natural History, the largest natural history museum in the world. The internship position is in the Biological Anthropology Collection, and I will be working within the department from October through December. Curatorial research I could potentially assist with pertains to human paleontology. This would be a wonderful learning experience.

The internship is paid, however, meagerly and definitely not well enough to survive in New York City as the cost of living there is so great. MY ORIGINAL HOUSING PLAN HAS FALLEN THROUGH, AND NOW I MUST PAY RENT IN NYC. If I am unable to afford to live in NYC for three months I will be unable to accept the internship.
