Sunshine for Sophia
She has been so brave during this whole treatment program and her parents have been her rock!!
The photo is Sophia soon after getting her pic lines out. She looks so happy!! Click on the photo to enlarge.
Sophia has a whole body scan on Friday to make sure that the cancer is gone, so please keep Sophia and her parents in your prayers.
The children at Sophias old daycare helped make the welcome sign in the photo. They really enjoyed doing something nice for their friend. We all want to see her, but right now the family needs a little down time to get back in the "swing" of things.
WELCOME HOME THOMPSONS!!!
The whole family is very tired out and are excited to come home and sleep in their own beds. They said they have made some wonderful new friends and can't thank the Drs, Nurses and all the staff at Pro Cure who cared for Sophia enough. They helped make a difficult situation a lot more tolerable.
I am adding a photo of Sophia adding her handprint to the kids wall. She looks VERY happy!!To view the photo just click on it and it will enlarge.
Everything has been going along pretty well for Sophia and her parents. She is doing very well on the new medication and it is really helping with her nausea and vomiting. The one little bump in the road is that she needed a blood transfusion on Friday. Her doctors felt that her hemo levels were a little low so she spent most of Friday in the hospital. She got her radiation and chemo, then had the transfusion. The one happy note is that she does not have to have chemo again until Dec. 7th here in Seattle. I think there is one chemo after that, and then she will be closely monitered.
We all miss Sophias smiles and giggles and can hardly wait for her to come home. Please continue to keep Sophia and her parents in your prayers.
The photo is Sophia in the hospital on Friday. At least she's smiling! I think she had her dads Ipad which she really enjoys.
