Giving the Gift of a Smile

A few years ago in Colombia, South America, I visited the town where I grew up, and I had the opportunity to share an experience with a small group of people from “Fundacion Semillas de Esperanza Quilichao FUSESQUI” (Seeds of Hope Quilichao Fundation). Most of Seeds of Hope members have some physical and/or mental limitation and have great support from other organizations who donate wheelchairs, canes, physical therapies, etc. However, Seeds of Hope has no program related to oral health, and unfortunately, most of them suffer from oral diseases. Because of this situation, I decided to prepare the first course of “Dental Hygiene for the Disabled”, and since that moment, I have been  looking for people with great charisma and generosity to help me strengthen the mission of Educate both caregivers and disabled people with physical and/or mental limitations that compromise their upper motor activities about oral hygiene.  Providing the disabled with rechargeable electric toothbrushes with the goal of improving their oral health.
