Service Dog for Silas
Let me take a moment to tell you about our dear little boy Silas. He was born 11 years ago on a charming Fall day, and none of us knew just how much we would fall in love with him when he arrived. Many would describe Silas as a loving, joyful and a tenderhearted child who desires for all around him to share in a smile. Silas can often be heard singing broken verses of "Jesus Loves Me", and praying with a smile.
You see, our sweet one suffers with Severe Epilepsy and mostly Non-Verbal Autism. Unfortunately, Silas is frequently plauged with seizures throughout his day, and as he gets older the risks of harm to himself have become greater. Imagine you are at the park enjoying a beautiful sunny day, and you look into a pond filled with vibrant colors when suddenly you are grasped by a powerful seizure that plunges you into the pond. There is no way you are able to escape the waters as your body will not listen in the midst of your seizing. Scary huh? This very incident is an event that has occurred in Silas' life, and continues to be one of many dangers a loving service dog could keep him from.
Your loving donation would not only provide Silas with a highly trained service dog that is attune to his special needs of Epilepsy and Autism, and trained to keep him safe in the community. This donation would be bringing new found safe freedom for Silas as he would be in constant companionship with his animal in the community. This dog would provide him confidence in public, medical safety with alerting others should he be about to seize, and assistance with his struggles pertaining to Autism.
