Help Me Go to Camp Woodward!

My name is Dominic. I am Sophomore and an Honor Roll Student-Athlete, currently attending Gateway High School in San Francisco CA. During the school year, I work for SF Park and Recreation’s Shred and Butter skateboard camp, where I teach young skaters how to develop their skills and become dope skaters.
I live with my Mother, Father and 3 Sisters in the Bayview Hunters Point district of San Francisco, which is generally known for its high crime rate and violence amongst the African American community, and especially amongst young men. Life as you may or may not know, (but definitely see in the media) for young black men is a constant struggle, however I am working hard in my academic career and in my social life to defeat the odds of and I know I will not become one of the statistics that most of us young men face… And my passion is to SKATE!
I have been skateboarding since the 4th grade and once I started I knew this was the sport I wanted to pursue. My lifelong dream as a skateboarder has been to attend camp Woodward. I would say that I am a pretty good skater and I know that with the skills I have obtained, that being a part of Camp Woodward would help me advance to the stage of my career as a boarder. By attending I will be able to benefit from instructor based teaching, where I will learn new skate techniques and be able to skate hard obstacle skate courses so I can become great.
I have been working for the past three years (academic year and summer months) to save money to be able to attend Camp Woodward. And although My parents totally support my dreams and work really hard to care of myself and my three sisters and to pay for our education and other recreational activities, with what I have saved from working and my parents contribution, I am significantly short on funds to go to Camp.
With all that said… I am asking my friends and family for a contribution of any dollar amount, to pay for my camp costs, food, and transportation while I am away at camp. If you cannot donate money, PLEASE donate a click of your mouse and keyboard to share my post to help support my dream of attending Camp Woodward.
