My name is Bianca Norwood. I am 19 years old and After many long nights, early mornings, and a long audition process, I've been offered admission to the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. They accept only 8-10 undergrad students each year from around the world.
I plan to receive my Bachelors in Acting from the Juilliard school in 2021.
I grew up in Fresno, Ca with my parents and my 5 older brothers and sisters. Being the youngest of 6 kids was a lot of work for my parents and they have invested as much as they could to all of us. Supporting six dreams can start to add up but try have been diligent in making ends meet for me. I began participating in the theatre in elementary school and haven't stopped performing since. Whether it was traveling the country and taking home national speech and debate titles or acting in the school play, I have always been on a stage.
I was raised by a second generation Latino mother and Creole father who taught me to be a proud of my heritage and beginnings. That pride has grown into advocacy. I am active in my pursuit for social justice as it exists in the theatre and plan to continue that pursuit at The Juilliard School. Not only for people of color, by for all marginalized people. I am passionate about community outreach and the notion that art can influence a people and in turn, CHANGE THE WORLD.
I am currently enrolled full time at a Performing Arts School (PCPA) on California's central coast and am restricted from having a job due to our rigorous schedule. However, I plan on working full time over the summer before moving to NYC in August and am applying for as many scholarships as possible. Even with all of my efforts, I need your help to make this possible. I have the opportunity of a lifetime and it's just within my reach. I need your help!!
