Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing Family Camp

Hello, we are the California Hands and Voices Deaf and Hard of Hearing Family Camp that takes place in Julian, California and hosts on average 50 famililes, serving approximately 100 children each year!  Our camp is dedicated to supporting families with children who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing without bias regarding communication modes or methodology.  During camp, our Deaf and/or Hard-of-Hearing children, along with their siblings, interact with others like them from around the country.  We are a 3-day camp that involves education and support for parents, and a magnitude of activities for children to participate.  We also focus on self-esteem, friendship, anti-bullying, and how to self-advocate.  Children from across the United States look forward to attending this camp each year.  We provide scholarship to families who would otherwise not be able to attend, as we do not want to exclude any child who has a hearing loss from being a part of this amazing experience.  Unfortunately, we have been in the red over the past two years and there is a good possiblility that camp will not run for the 2015 year without the generosity of people like you.  We run solely on our fundraising efforts and doantions made by people and corporations.  It is our hope that we can raise enough money to ensure all our campers will have yet another amazing experience at next year's Deaf and Hard of Hearing Family Camp.  We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making next year's camp a reality and allowing children with hearing loss to connect and create lasting friendships with children just like them!
