Jorge Aguilar came from el DF, Mexico around 1968. He came to the United States with a primary education and plenty of experience as a butcher. In Chicago, he found a job as a landscaper and he discovered his hidden talent.
Around 1987, he became one of the founders of J & R Landscaping and with the fruits of his labor, his wife* and him raised 3 children (Rita Aguilar, his wife, is an active Pilsen resident, president of the Parochial Council of San Paul’s Church, Board member of the Pilsen Neighbors Community Council and she wears many more leadership hats!).
Jorge needs your help! His trailer, with multiple landscaping machines, got on fire. He tried to save some of his resources inside the metal trailer but then his body caught fire.
Jorge is in the ICU Burn Unit at this moment. He will stay there for about 7-10 days. This Thursday, he will be having surgery to take skin graphs for the right leg. He will then have observations in order to ensure he heals well.
Jorge is self-employed and since his has Medicare, his bills are going to be staggering.
Please help Jorge and his family rebuild their business and a little bit more so he can get back on his feet and continue living the American Dream with his family in Pilsen, the neighborhood where he found love and shaped his family!
