Save Cat's Home!
Cat will be 61 in February. She suffers from multiple health issues & could be homeless this winter without our help!
Cat lives on the in North eastern Maryland & barely makes ends meet with a small disability check.
When hurricane Sandy hit, Cat's modest, older home suffered significant damage that she could not afford to repair. Since then, Cat has lived alone in deplorable conditions with only her cat & dog for company, but she makes do & rarely complains.
The local authorities have now condemned her home & have slated it for demolition.
FEMA didn't help Cat... The local charities & volunteer organizations haven't helped Cat. Together, a few dollars at a time, we can do what they wouldn't & save Cat from homelessness.
Goal- We would like to raise enough money to meet Cat's modest dream: to buy a small, used modular home to put on the existing foundation - nothing fancy, just something livable.
Donate now & make a real difference in someone's life!
This was my parents’ home. They lived the last 30 years of their lives here, & they're buried less than two miles away. Every fruit tree, shrub & tree was planted by my father. Much sentimental value.
The county is planning to demolish my home, and I will find out the exact date on which they will do this at court on July 14th.
The county had previously given me 30 days to come up with enough funds to have the house demolished, keep the land, and build a more stable home on the existing land. However, I couldn't comply within that time frame for financial reasons. Now the county is taking the costly option of using a contractor for the demolition & giving me a short time frame to pay the lien (reimbursement for demo costs).
On February 14th, 2016, I'll be 62. At that time, I'll go from SSI ($733. monthly), to social security ($360 monthly). If all goes well at that time, I will get a home grant from the dept of the ageing (& several others), a reverse mortgage, be able to keep the property my parents’ house was on, and put a doublewide on the property.
If I am not able to pay off the lien, I'll lose it all.
Currently, I do not have enough money to pay off the lien that the county placed on my property. I am homeless. I am living in a 1974 camper that is too old to tag, insure, and place in a camp ground.
Hope you guys can find it in your hearts to help me. Any help is appreciated. God bless!
